Hair and Beauty treatments now available at The Rocket.

The retail offering at CBD Robina's iconic commercial tower, The Rocket, is set to gain a new dimension with the opening of an upmarket hair and beauty salon.

The salon will feature rich timbers, clear lines and a stacked, pale stone desk offering hairdressing cut, colour and hair treatment services as well as beauty skin treatments, microdermabrasion, waxing, manicures, pedicures and makeup.

Vogue @ Robina hair & body will occupy a 100 square metre space in the 1800 square metre Rocket retail precinct, beside Lake Lido, whose business mix includes eateries and a fitness centre.

It is being opened by Katrina Morris, a beauty therapist and Diane Schoeman,a hairdresser, each with 15 years' experience in their field. Ms Schoeman, Apprentice of the Year in her home town of Durban, South Africa, has won L'Oreal Colour trophy awards and was Avant Garde hairstylist of the year.

She has extensive experience in fashion show work, participating in the South African Fashion Week on three occasions as an artistic director. Ms Schoeman has worked with hairdressers from houses such as Toni & Guy and Saks, spending six years in London where she worked in business management.

Ms Morris studied beauty therapy theory while undertaking an apprenticeship in Port Macquarie, before moving to Sydney and joining the award-winning Ella Rouge beauty salon.

She spent time in to London where she worked at The Peach Tree, a salon popular among celebrities, and her facials received coverage in Vogue magazine.

The partners hold a five-year lease with a five-year option over The Rocket premises, which are undergoing fitout, and the salon is scheduled to open on July 16.

It will operate 9.00am-5.30pm weekdays with late night Thursday’s and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays with later appointments by prior booking.

Vogue @ Robina hair & body fulfils a long-held desire of the partners to operate a salon in their own right and is the foundation step in realisation of a vision to establish a chain of outlets with a strong customer focus.

``We want to build relationships, to have our clients relax and open up to us about their wants, their needs and desires,'' said Diane.

``Knowing a person this way enables us to give the service they deserve. ``We want them to leave the salon not only looking fantastic but also feeling valued.'

'Ms Schoeman said that the aim with the salon's decor was to achieve clean, effortless beauty with an air of relaxed indulgence.

The salon will utilise the finest products, including L'Oreal Professional, Label M, Global Keratin Hair Straightening, Bodyography mineral makeup, and Algologie skin products.

``We stay abreast of all the latest trends and I travelled to London in May to update myself on the latest developments in hairdressing and gain latest information in the beauty industry.'' Diane said

Katrina Morris said ``Our beauty treatments are designed to revive, rejuvenate and relax,''

Diane and Katrina both said CBDRobina was chosen due to its central-city location and the fact it would become the Gold Coast City's premier business hub.

``We knew immediately it was the location for us,'' Katrina said. ``It is a stylish, iconic building that reflects the spirit of Robina and of Gold Coast City.

``We want our premises to depict what we are about - inspired, in the centre of it all, somewhere unique and with heart.

``We too want to reflect the spirit of the city and be iconic along with The Rocket.''

Hylton Slater, General Manager of Robina Projects Australia which developed the 16 level Rocket, said Vogue @ Robina hair & body brought a new dimension to the retail precinct.

``The salon extends the wellbeing offering, at present represented by gymnasium Anytime Fitness, and provides an important service for the Robina community and those nearby,'' he said.

``It complements the precinct's eateries which are likely to enjoy additional custom as a consequence of the clientele Vogue @ Robina will attract.

``The salon's principals are deeply committed people with extensive knowledge of their industry and we have every expectation the business will quickly gain a reputation.''

Businesses in the precinct also include coffee shop and eatery Kaffiend, a Night Owl convenience store, Anatolia Kebabs, Anytime Fitness, Trilby Misso and Robina Marketing Australia.

The Rocket sits at the corner of Laver Drive and Robina Town Centre Drive and has 1,100 square metres of A-grade office space above the retail area.

Its five remaining retail spaces range from 88 square metres to 253 square metres while office spaces range from 90 square metres to whole floorplates of 790 square metres.

The Rocket is being marketed by Marcus Weld, of Robina Marketing Australia.
